Book title: Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
March 9 2015
Part 1:

Reflect: It has taken our society by storm with its intense love story of a human girl and a mystical vampire. Twilight is a popular book in today's society that reflects the values and the attitudes of our culture through the characters that could tell students in the future about our society. One value present in Twilight is this idea that love is capable of changing who a person is and sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. There is more to Twilight than a love story, there is the universal battle of good versus evil within an individual and also this idea of how love is a natural force, making a person do things in life that they never though they would do, and also binding people to people.

Predict: It was very predictable when Bella and Edward had sex. Bella was still human then and Edward was a Vampire. Vampires are known to have super natural abilities such as strength and power. I had predicted that somehow there would be chaos and destruction that would happen in the scenario. I was not wrong with my prediction, Edward was not able to control his super natural strength like he used to when he is with Bella. The bed and every thing around the room was destroyed by Edward.

Question: Why was Bella so controlled as a newborn? Knowing that Bella’s really the only vampire who went into it knowing what to expect, being mentally prepared and on guard for her reactions. And she’s a naturally stubborn person, which helps when you make up your mind to do something.

Connect: You know when you are really in love because when you love truly, your love will be unconditional. There would be no hindrances, there would be no such thing as impossible. You would do everything for the one you love, even the things that you think that are impossible to do. True love knows no limit.
